About CTC New members are invited to join CTC at any time. For more information about CTC read the rest of this website. You can also listen to audio recordings of selected CTC conference calls, or participate in the quarterly CTC calls open to the public.
Please send an email to ctc@baynvc.org if you would like to join the open calls. The only non-negotiable condition for joining CTC is the intention to live in alignment with the core commitments. All other involvement with the community is based on exploration, dialogue, and choice. As you look at the list of commitments, you may notice the use of the word “want” rather than “commit” in describing ways of relating to self, others and life in general. This is because the focus is on an intention and desire rather than a promise, which none of us can give. All of us at some point or another will struggle to find sufficient inner resources to follow through on these desires. The point of joining CTC is to affirm your overarching clarity that living in line with the commitments is what you want, that there is no in-principle objection to the language of the commitments, and that you welcome support and reminders for staying on track with them. CTC and Nonviolent Communication (NVC): The consciousness that CTC is founded upon is a consciousness of nonviolence, understood more broadly than NVC per se. At the same time, NVC is a core practice of most CTC members, and most of the community uses the lens of NVC – and especially the unique focus on human needs – as an organizing principle for understanding and applying a consciousness of nonviolence. Some exposure to and training in NVC would likely support anyone who joins the community. CTC is NOT a training program, and is not interchangeable with any training offered by BayNVC (such as the Foundation series or the Leadership Program) or by any other NVC trainer. |
